Hydro Extrusion’s three plants located in Itu (SP), Tubarão (SC) and Utinga (SP) have achieved certification by the global organization Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI) in the Performance Standard, which defines environmental, social and governance principles and criteria applicable to the aluminum value chain, from mining to finished products.

“This achievement was only possible thanks to the collaboration between our departments and the exceptional dedication of people throughout the organization. Considering that our plant in Argentina has also just been certified, now all plants in South America can use the ASI seal,” highlights Sergio Vendrasco, vice president responsible for the company’s Precision Piping operations in South America.

The plants employ some 900 professionals and manufacture more than 80,000 tons of profiles per year for industrial and civil construction customers. Specifically, Itu still provides heat transfer solutions for customers in the automotive and HVAC markets.
