Hydro’s aluminum plant in Argentina has just received ASI certification. Thus, Hydro Extrusion Argentina S.A., in Pilar, becomes the first aluminum extrusion plant in the country to be certified according to the ASI Performance Standard.

ASI’s goal is that the principles of sustainability and human rights are increasingly integrated into supply chains. In addition, the Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI) performance standard recognizes among other issues the responsible production, sourcing and management of aluminum.

For CEO Eduardo Julia, “our plant has achieved many things as we have developed and improved over the years, but this achievement is something special for us. It reflects a strong collaboration between our departments and an exceptional group of dedicated, customer-focused employees.”

For his part, Executive Vice President Paul Warton, who heads Hydro’s Extrusions business area, adds that “this certification demonstrates to our customers in Argentina once again that doing business the right way is what matters to us”. Hydro Extrusions is Hydro’s largest business area, with 21,000 employees in 40 countries.
