Ball Announces New Aluminum End Manufacturing Plant
Ball Corporation already has its plans for 2022. This is the new aluminum end manufacturing plant that it plans to build in Bowling Green, Kentucky (USA).
The facility will supply lightweight, infinitely recyclable aluminum ends to regional and national customers in the North American country for growing beverage categories and brands. Ball plans to expand the facility over several years by installing additional end modules.
Bowling Green was chosen because of the plant’s proximity to major distribution routes and existing supply chain partners.
“Our new Bowling Green, Kentucky facility will provide final aluminum supply to Ball’s growing North American network of beverage can manufacturing plants,” said Colin Gillis, president of beverage packaging for North and Central America. “Bowling Green,” the company’s website notes, “will join our industry-leading network of more than 20 North American plants, including two new beverage can manufacturing plants currently under construction in Glendale, Arizona, and Pittston, Pennsylvania, scheduled to begin in early and mid-2021, respectively.
These investments will align our bottom line production with our investments in beverage can capacity, and are backed by numerous long-term customer contracts to meet the unprecedented demand for sustainable aluminum packaging while furthering Ball’s Drive for 10 vision for long-term success.”
Ball Corporation provides innovative and sustainable aluminum packaging solutions for beverage, personal care and household products customers, as well as aerospace and other technologies and services, primarily for the U.S. government.
