RetuRO, a company dedicated to the collection of packaging in Romania, has opened a new collection center in the country. This is its third center and will serve to facilitate the packaging return process for consumers. In this way, it seeks to promote a culture of recycling and care for the environment among the Romanian population. In addition, this initiative is expected to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and promote a more sustainable circular economy.

In a space of 3,300 square meters, there are machines that count PET and aluminum cans, as well as machines that count glass containers and other items.

RetuRO, the company responsible for managing the deposit return system (DRS), has recently opened its third regional center for the collection of beverage containers in Brasov, Romania.

The newly constructed facility, located in VGP’s logistics park, has a processing capacity exceeding 240 million DRS packages annually.

The central area in the city of Brasov covers an area of 3,300 square meters and is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery for packaging processing, such as counting machines for PET and aluminum cans, counters for glass containers, storage warehouses and presses for packaging materials.

The location of the center was strategically chosen to serve the counties of Brasov, Harghita, Covasna and Sibiu, as well as the neighboring areas.

It is estimated that the Brasov facility will generate employment for 40 people, and the manager aims to create around 500 environment-related jobs throughout the country.
