The German multinational Lindal Group, one of the world market leaders in aerosol packaging technology, has just announced the opening of its new state-of-the-art facility in São Paulo, Brazil.

The international aerosol dispensing company began work in 2020 and has taken 370 days to complete the entire installation. A total of 14 million euros has been invested in this project, including new equipment to increase capacity, which represents the company’s largest investment to date.

The new facility, which has been built in a sustainable manner with advanced manufacturing equipment, will also employ 130 workers in the first phase, although it is expected to reach 250 employees.

Marcio Vacilotto, COO of Lindal Brazil said, “Constructing a building of this magnitude during the pandemic required meticulous planning and positive teamwork from everyone involved. We are delighted to be fully operational and to serve our customers within the committed time frame as well”.

For his part, the managing director of Lindal Brazil, Moacir Camargo, stressed that “this state-of-the-art facility demonstrates the group’s commitment to the market. This new site will consolidate Lindal’s leadership in the supply of valves and actuators for the Brazilian aerosol market, enabling sustainable and more efficient production.

The new plant is strategically located 10 km from one of Brazil’s most connected, high-capacity highways and close to one of the country’s main shipping ports. In addition, it has been purposely designed to be adaptable and facilitate more agile manufacturing processes.

Among the innovations is the construction of a wall made of thermal panels, which can be moved to expand the plant in the future. In addition, the entire interior floor of the plant has been constructed in order to accommodate a variety of heavy machinery, allowing for greater flexibility and capacity expansion of the new plant.

Vacillotto added: “The idea behind the design is to reduce internal material movements, reduce transport times and increase the efficiency of processes such as palletising, case erecting and packaging. The design allows different technologies, such as conveyors or tuggers, to be incorporated more freely as our customers’ requirements evolve”.

The new building is also EDGE certified by Green Business Certification Inc. This makes it the first industrial building in Brazil to receive this accreditation. The zero waste generated at the plant is sent to landfill and a series of energy and water saving measures have been incorporated.
