Beijing, China, September 28, 2022. Inkmaker Shanghai, the Chinese subsidiary of IM GROUP, completed the installation of its latest automatic ink transfer system for a leading multinational packaging company in Beijing.
Branded ‘Inktrasyst®’, the new system represents the state-of-the-art in Inkmaker ink transfer technology and was installed including premixing, storage, transfer and automatic in-line viscosity adjustment for process color: CMYK + White in 3 different series. The system works with ‘IMPRIMO’.Inkmaker’s latest software; to manage ink stock, formulations, real-time stock monitoring, instant accurate transfer and automatic online ink viscosity adjustment, as well as consumption and traceability by job order, as a result of IM GROUP’s major investment in Industry 4.0 technology and IoT R&D.
As part of several key objectives related to sustainability, Inkmaker’s new system had to comply with the concept of environmental protection. Inkmaker achieved this by maximizing current operations towards automation, thereby reducing human intervention; as well as reducing carbon emissions and waste; achieving absolute consistency in ink supply; enabling automatic ink traceability; implementing an always-new ink mixing facility on demand; and applying bridging machinery to printing. Labor was also reduced for ink movement between the ink room and the presses, which further reduced operating costs.
“Traditionally, operators would manually refill the ink tray and adjust the viscosity. However, with Inktrasyst, the ink always arrives at the press in optimum condition,” explained Lau Kar Seng, general manager of Inkmaker Shanghai and a member of the IM GROUP board of directors. explained Lau Kar Seng, General Manager of Inkmaker Shanghai and board member of IM GROUP, “In addition, the viscosity is automatically consistent throughout the printing process; this not only increases confidence in achieving a perfect final print, but also reduces waste ink to virtually zero, which is an incredible savings for the environment.”
“We are proud to be part of this environmental improvement project,” concluded Roberto Guerra, managing director for Asia Pacific at IM GROUP. concluded Roberto Guerra, managing director for Asia Pacific at IM GROUP, “with this important installation, we can contribute Inkmaker’s technology to the green environment goal of Beijing, one of China’s largest economic and technological development areas, and with this our commitment, to achieve a greener and more sustainable world, is gaining momentum.”
