The Argentinian craft brewery Bierhaus wants to increase its production levels tenfold and will invest 15 million pesos (just over 130,000 euros). Production is increasing as announced. The first half of this year closed with a production of 200,000 cans (150,000 more than the same period of 2020); they expect the second half of the year to close with more than 480,000 cans.

As has happened in the beer sector worldwide, the pandemic has hit sales in bars and restaurants, but not in supermarkets and local shops, where especially craft beer has had a remarkable growth, as the confinement made people prepare for several months locked up, thus triggering the purchase of cans of beverages.

José Bini, co-founder and production manager of Bierhaus, points out that the brewery is operating at 50% of its total capacity, “entering a period of recovery, which the company wants to accompany and promote”. Thus, they are betting on these stores and supermarkets: “We are already in Disco and Jumbo, having an excellent reception and consumer response. We are currently closing contracts with Carrefour and Coto which motivates us to continue growing and investing”.

Not only in Argentina. Last month, Bierhaus concreted its presence in Spain, with a sales projection of more than 30,000 liters for this 2021 in 30 bars distributed in Madrid and Barcelona. This presence is made in alliance with the Spanish brewery Domus Cervecería. The beer will be brewed directly at the Domus brewery, under license from Bierhaus.

“Spain is a market that has been growing steadily for 10 years. Beer consumption per capita is high and there is much to grow, since craft beer production is only 1%,” said José Bini.

The next objective is to export mainly to Brazil and Chile and in less than 2 years to disembark in the United States.

Bierhaus is a 100% Argentine capital company with more than 10 years in the market with a production of more than 1 million liters per year. It has more than 350 bars and outlets across the country. Its beers have won more than 20 international awards.
