Bericap’s acquisition of Mala Verschluss-Systeme: a strategic alliance in the fastener industry

Three years ago, Bericap became one of the world’s leading plastic fastener companies by acquiring Mala Verschluss-Systeme. This family-owned company, based in Bad Liebenstein, Thuringia, specialized in the manufacture and sale of aluminum screw caps for spirits, wine, soft drinks and edible oil.

Following this acquisition, the company was renamed Bericap Aluminium GmbH and in 2020 had earnings of €40 million. Thanks to this business change, Bericap has expanded its product offering to include aluminum closures for edible oil, vinegar and mineral water in addition to its existing range of plastic closures.
