Many companies are financially supporting the population in the aftermath of the Ukraine-Russia conflict. To assist with humanitarian efforts, The Ball Foundation has announced a $250,000 donation to Global Giving, which distributes the funds to charities providing aid and assistance to affected refugees.
Ball Corporation is deeply saddened by the conflict and humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, “and our hearts go out to those affected. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our employees. In addition, our existing employee matching gift program is supporting multiple relief efforts, while many of our EMEA beverage and aerosol packaging employees are working to provide additional assistance to refugees.”
Ball’s beverage packaging infrastructure in Russia is limited to three facilities and has operated in the region since the 1990s. The business is autonomous in terms of raw materials, manufacturing process and customers, and we continue to operate and comply with applicable laws and sanctions.
“Our Russian business supports existing contractual relationships with Ball’s customers and supply chain partners in the midst of very challenging circumstances. Ball will continue to fulfill our obligations to stakeholders, support humanitarian efforts and will also suspend any future investments in Russia. We continue to monitor the situation closely and support the global call for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict,” the company added.
