Hydro’s primary aluminum plant, Albras, in Brazil, has restarted the production line that suffered a power outage on February 19, 2022. The Albras plant in Barcarena, located in the Brazilian state of Pará, was operating at 25% reduced capacity following a power distribution failure on a production line, which caused the affected line to shut down.

However, the plant’s other three lines were not affected and there were no injuries. The production line is expected to be fully operational at normal capacity during the fourth quarter of this year.

Finally, Albras has a total production capacity of 460,000 tons per year. Hydro also owns 51% of Albras, while the remaining 49% is owned by Nippon Amazon Aluminium Co. Ltd.
