Global supplier of high-quality packaging for baby food, as well as luxury and nutritional items, Hoffmann has announced the expansion and upgrading of its plant in the Netherlands to include a can production line for baby milk powder products. The facility operates in a separate area to ensure compliance with food standards.
With an investment of around 4 million euros, this economic injection means an increase in the production of powdered milk cans for babies by 118 million containers per year. Currently, the line produces 99 mm diameter cans with volumes up to 400 grams. The new hall also has enough space for a second production line to accommodate continued growth.
Meanwhile, Andreas Geiger, general manager of the metals division, has decided to leave Hoffmann Neopac AG after managing the can business for two years. André Seiler took over management of the cans division on January 1, 2022 and will travel between the two main production sites in Switzerland and the Netherlands. Prior to joining Hoffmann, Seiler was, among other things, managing director of Stebler Blech AG and Stebler Packaging AG in Nunningen, Switzerland. He is also president of the Swiss Metal Packaging Association, SVM.
Mark Aegler, CEO of Hoffmann Neopac AG reiterates that “the new baby milk powder packaging line at our plant in the Netherlands strengthens Hoffmann’s position as a European specialty supplier in the metal packaging sector” to which he adds that “for the future, we are investing heavily in the decarbonization of our production sites and products to reduce our overall impact on the sheet metal packaging supply chain”.
