The Aluminum Association has announced the launch of the Choose Aluminum campaign, which includes a digital media ad buy, videos with aluminum workers and leaders, a new sustainability website at ChooseAluminum.org and collateral highlighting the sustainable properties of 100% recyclable and durable products. metal. The campaign follows last month’s launch of the Aluminium Association’s new website.
The campaign, which includes ad groups, videos and the website, tells the story of how aluminum is providing sustainable solutions in the areas of recycling, automotive production, building and construction, beverage packaging and more. It also tracks how the North American aluminum industry has reduced its carbon footprint by more than half over the past 30 years.
The U.S. aluminum industry generates nearly 660,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs and nearly $172 billion in economic output. Over the past decade, the industry has invested more than $3 billion in U.S. manufacturing.
Matt Meenan, senior director of external affairs for the association says: “As we work towards a more circular and sustainable future, aluminium needs to be at the forefront. Sometimes we forget the environmental benefits that aluminium provides, from the drinks we buy to the buildings we live in. This campaign is a reminder that we have a lightweight, durable and infinitely recyclable solution at our fingertips.”
The aluminium industry is also continuously improving the environmental efficiency of metal production. A third-party life cycle assessment of North American aluminum can production conducted in May of this year showed that greenhouse gas emissions have decreased by 40% over the past 30 years.
