The general association of the aluminium industry changes its name to Aluminium Germany. With the entry in the register of associations, the General Association of the Aluminium Industry (GDA) officially receives its new name, Aluminium Germany (AD).

As confirmed by the association, in doing so, the association takes into account the change in the political and social framework, so that the focus is now on the material. The change of name also expresses its new public orientation. In this way, the aluminium industry wants to increase its presence in the public eye and intensify the dialogue with different actors in society, business and politics.

Hinrich Mählmann, President of Aluminium Germany, emphasises that “with the new look of the association, we are putting the focus on the material. Aluminium is a central component on the road to a climate-neutral society. We therefore want to bring our potential even more clearly into the foreground and further strengthen customer and political solidarity. This is what the name Aluminium Germany stands for.

Finally, Aluminium Germany comes to represent the interests of aluminium and its supply chain for a solid industrial location, from production and metal recycling to the finished product.
