UGT and Ecoembes have renewed their collaboration agreement in order to continue working together to promote the circular economy and packaging recycling among workers’ representatives. The renewal was made affective in a ceremony held at the headquarters of UGT in Madrid with the participation of Pepe Álvarez, secretary general of UGT, and Óscar Martín, CEO of Ecoembes.
Thanks to the ratification of this agreement, both organizations will work to highlight the importance of recycling packaging waste in the workplace. Specifically, both institutions are committed to jointly develop different actions aimed at raising awareness in society in general, and among workers in particular, of the importance of the correct separation of packaging waste in homes and workplaces, thus promoting recycling and reuse.
Along the same lines, they are also committed to disseminating campaigns and reports that promote awareness of these areas. Among them is the ‘Study on Circular Economy and Employment’ prepared by UGT in the framework of the collaboration, which analyzes the current situation and future needs to accelerate the transition and move from linear to circular economy.
