Ronal Group Company received ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) certification with a focus on materials management for the design, manufacture and distribution of light alloy wheels.

The Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI) announced that Ronal Group has successfully achieved ASI Performance Standard certification for its production plant in Poland. Ronal Group specializes in engineering and construction projects for locks, doors and structures. The plant has a maximum annual production of 2 million light alloy wheels.

The ASI certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standards initiative for the aluminum value chain. ASI Performance Standard certifications that focus on “materials stewardship” address issues such as product design, life cycle assessments, process scrap management, and end-of-life product collection and recycling.

“We warmly congratulate RONAL GROUP for achieving Performance Standard certification with a focus on materials management. Working with supply chain partners in the product design and materials section is critical when creating a closed loop for end-of-life products. The company’s ongoing measures to reduce material consumption, rationalize alloy usage and create material recycling loops demonstrate its commitment to collaboration and aluminum circularity.”said Fiona Solomon, ASI’s executive director.

Oliver Brauner, CEO of the group, added that “after joining the Friends of the Alumina Resources Initiative and becoming an industrial user in September 2020, we have now received the next step, which is our first certification. This successful first certification signifies the success of our strategy regarding production, procurement and responsible management of resources and raw materials. RONAL GROUP supports ASI’s goal of promoting transparency and accountability in aluminum production and distribution. We are very proud to not only have this certification, but also to have achieved it according to a standard for “Performance”.

The independent third-party audit of RONAL GROUP’s operations was conducted by TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH.
