Globally, Chile is recognized as a leading exporter of a variety of foods, including fresh cherries, plums, salmon fillets in both fresh and frozen versions, and jack mackerel.
In the food industry, one of the most important elements is packaging, which is used to preserve nutritional properties and protect food during transportation and storage. In addition to being a food producing country, Chile also has an industry dedicated to the production of packaging. These are not only used by local companies, but are also exported to other countries.
Recently, ProChile’s representative in the Biobío region, Ramón Paredes, visited a leading company in the manufacture of food packaging: Auxiliar Conservera América. During his visit to the Coronel Industrial Park, Paredes met with Pablo Parra, assistant manager of Business Development, and Claudio Vega, the company’s commercial manager.
The president of Auxiliar Conservera, pointed out the company’s work in the creation of new products and its constant innovation, focusing on sustainability and the use of 100% recyclable materials. In addition, he stressed the importance of the national industry focusing on adopting a circular economy as a fundamental part of its work, reducing the use of plastics in packaging and promoting its recycling.
