Multinational Tata Steel received the coveted JRDQV award at the enterprise level and was also recognized as the ‘Benchmark Leader’ under the Tata Business Excellence Model (TBEM) Assessment corresponding to the 2021 Assessment Year.

During the event, T. V. Narendran, the CEO and MD of Tata Steel, thanked the entire Tata Steel family for their excellence over the years and commented on how the efforts of the entire organization have helped the company achieve ‘Benchmark Leader’ status, making this another historic milestone for the company.

The assessment was conducted for Tata Steel in India at the enterprise level, covering all business units of the Indian operation as a single entity. Tata Steel’s achievement is that it has won the JRDQV award for promotional training, and due to the fact that it is not only included for employees but also for internal divisions in other companies such as Tubes and Wires, as well as Ferroalloys and Minerals.

The Tata Online Evaluation Model (TBEM) is something that is used to evaluate Tata Group companies. This is done through the Tata Business Excellence Group, with the objective of improving business performance. Evaluation has several dimensions, where that of policies and strategies tends not to be as broad as issues related to management, operations or analysis. The model employs a 1,000-point local scoring system.
