Maiwa, the Galician brand that sells its T-shirts in tin cans

The Galician company Maiwa entered the market only three years ago and from the very first moment it opted for a new packaging method, with great success as a tribute to the seafaring culture of the Galician community.

In concrtect, Maiwa is a young fashion brand that was born in 2020, not exactly the best years to undertake risky projects. However, its creators decided to take a risk and bet on this small company, finding a high interest among the public to bring the authentic Galician aesthetics through the garments.

Since its arrival in the noisy world of fashion, Maiwa has increased its recognition without losing the essence of its Galician origins. Proof of this is the latest summer collection, for which the brand has chosen a very particular packaging that faithfully reflects the transgressive style of Maiwa with its characteristic rasp.

A simple tin can was the packaging chosen by Maiwa to present its latest clothing collection. T-shirts and sweatshirts with the company’s exclusive logo have been bottled to remind us of those difficult times that such an important sector for the community had to face.

“We wanted to follow the trail of Galician quality that comes from the sea and is reflected in all business aspects of our land. Maiwa wants to be a reflection and tribute to the life linked to the sea that has been the pillar of the economy and life of the coastal towns, which have created around them a whole industry of reference in Europe and that today can also be worn with pride thanks to the fashion produced here,” said Marta Vázquez, head of the project.

“Along the orography of the Galician coast are the typical fishing villages, those in which the sea is their way of life, and what better than a raspa, we thought, to represent and unite two traditions closely linked to Galicia, the textile and the sea. Maiwa, looks for that, that Galician spark that engages with its philosophy of enjoying life”, concluded from the aforementioned Galician company.
