Symrise, a company dedicated to the production of pet food, recently inaugurated a new plant in Chapecó. This facility will be dedicated to the manufacture of flavors for dog and cat food formulas and will set a new production record for Symrise in the global pet food market.

Today, buyers are more concerned about the excellence and protection of pet food formulas, trying to satisfy their furry friends’ tastes while meeting their nutritional requirements. With this in mind, Symrise decided to build a new facility offering taste solutions to help pet food manufacturers meet these demands. According to the company, the recently inaugurated Symrise Pet Food facility is the largest of its kind in Latin America, covering more than 10,000 square meters. The pet products company also opened its second plant in Descalvado, São Paulo, to increase its presence in Latin America. With this new facility, the company will expand its pet food production in Brazil and will be better prepared to meet the growing demand in the region. In addition, the site will also provide specialized products to help improve sanitary regulations for the animal nutrition industry worldwide.
The new plant of Symrise, an international company, is expected to employ more than 50 people and also create several indirect jobs during its construction phase. To carry out this project, Symrise partnered with local authorities in Brazil to build a modern, state-of-the-art facility.

Fernando Putrino, Symrise Brazil’s general manager of pet food, mentioned the challenge they faced in building an exceptional factory that could serve both the ever-growing local market and the global market. “We faced the challenge of building an extraordinary factory capable of serving the dynamically growing local market as well as the global market” said Fernando Putrino, general manager of pet food for Symrise Brazil. “Today, we celebrate the opening of this site, a milestone achieved with the dedication of our passionate team and the strong support of the local government. The opening event was attended by community leaders, key politicians, business representatives and those involved in the project. After the ceremony, Symrise allowed guests to tour the facility and learn about the entire production process they go through to create pet food.
“I am very honored to host such an event,” said Gonzalo Rodriguez, general manager of pet food at Symrise in LATAM. said Gonzalo Rodriguez, general manager of pet food at Symrise in LATAM. “It represents a great opportunity to illustrate our leadership position in the industry. It is based on a solid foundation that comes from a combination of more than 40 years of experience and our passion for making palates.

“Thanks to the visitor corridor we built above the plant, we can show the production process from a unique vantage point,” he added. “In addition, we can tell visitors what happens before we start making a palate. Many people experience for the first time that, before entering the market, we test 150 times to ensure its performance. In addition, they can learn here that we evaluate our new products on their environmental impact in seven categories. This allows us to determine the best formulation to meet our commitment to reduce our environmental footprint.”

Symrise, in addition to its commitment to the pet food industry, also has a global plan to invest in local development. This plan aims to bring the company’s operations closer to its suppliers and customers to ensure a constant supply. As part of this plan, the company has opened two factories specialized in the production of pet food ingredients located in China and Colombia.
