ROCOL OBTAINS VEGAN TRADEMARK FOR FOOFLUBE

The British manufacturer of technically advanced industrial lubricants has obtained the vegan trademark for 45 of its food-grade products. ROCOL claims to be the first manufacturer of maintenance products and lubricants worldwide to obtain the vegan trademark.

The firm argues that the register will help food manufacturers to reinforce their vegan credentials and demonstrate a commitment to quality throughout the supply chain. This certification will be applied to 45 of its products within its Foodlube and Purol ranges.

Andy Howard, the company’s food and hygiene segment specialist, says: “According to The Vegan Society, over 90% of vegans and vegetarians look for vegan verification in the products they buy, and 85% believe third-party certification is important. The Vegan Mark is the most recognised brand globally, which is why we are looking to register products from our Foodlube and Purol ranges”.

He adds that “choosing products that display the vegan trademark adds another layer of transparency to your supply chain by confirming that your vegan credentials extend beyond the ingredients used to make your products.”

Administered by The Vegan Society, the trademark helps consumers identify products that contain no animal ingredients. First introduced in 1990, it now appears on more than 53,000 products in 79 countries.
