Primary aluminum production in both Russia and Eastern Europe increased to 350,000 tons last March. These figures translate into a month-on-month increase of 11.46% to 314,000 tons. However, compared to the previous month, production was down 10.03% or 35,000 tons month-on-month from 349,000 tons.

In the case of Western and Central Europe, primary aluminum production stood at 253,000 tons, an increase of 23,000 tons or 10% over February’s 230,000 tons. March production also increased after a decrease of 32,000 tons or 12.21% from January’s 262,000 tons.

In the first quarter of this year, primary aluminum production in Russia and Eastern Europe was 1.013 million tons, which was 2.78% lower than the 1.042 million tons in the fourth quarter of 2021. In the full year 2021, primary aluminum production in Russia and Eastern Europe amounted to 4.139 million tons. According to the latest data, Western and Central Europe produced 12.15% less from 288,000 tons of primary aluminum, which translates into a slight decrease.
