Pepsi is not stopping in its struggle to gain ground on Coca Cola and has just launched a canned beverage with which it wants to revolutionize the beverage sector. It is Nitro Pepsi, a nitrogen-infused soft drink, the first of its kind.
Pepsi’s new bet, which was just launched in March, is marketed in two different flavors: Draft Cola and Vanilla Draft Cola. They are presented in cans with a new design, both individually and in packs of four.
Nitrogen is most commonly used in beer and coffee, as well as in the well-known Starbucks cold beverages. Here, however, Pepsi has had to preserve all those characteristics in a can. To solve it, he added a nitrogen capsule that releases the gas when opened to create the characteristic foam of Guinness stout.
As it is a nitrogenated beverage, the new bet comes with consumption indications, as Pepsi says that, in order to enjoy the experience, it is recommended not to drink it with ice and not to use straws to drink it.
“This is the first time such a technology, which we often see in beer and coffee, has made its way into cola,” says PepsiCo, which describes it as its most ambitious feat to date.
