PackUK, the administrator of the UK government’s Extended Producer Responsibility for Packaging (pEPR) scheme, has opened the call for applications to join its voluntary advisory groups. These groups will provide expert advice in key areas, not making decisions, but guiding the growth of the organization.

The advisory groups include:
– Scheme Administrator Steering Committee.
– Recyclability Assessment Technical Committee.
– Efficiency and Effectiveness Technical Committee.
– Communications and Behavior Change Advisory Group.

Each advisory group will meet quarterly and will have a focus on areas such as packaging sustainability, improving waste management and developing communication and behavior change strategies.

PackUK’s primary role is to manage and coordinate compliance with packaging recycling obligations. This involves working with producers, recyclers, local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure that packaging is recycled efficiently, promoting sustainable practices and complying with environmental regulations set by the government.

PackUK also facilitates collaboration between various stakeholders through advisory committees, providing a space to receive expert advice on recyclability, process efficiency, communication and behavior change strategies to improve sustainability in the packaging sector.
