Open Water bets on sustainability at the 2023 Academy Awards with innovative aluminum bottles and cans

It was recently announced that Open Water, the sustainable water company, would partner with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to provide the life-giving liquid in bottles and cans during the Oscars event on March 12.

This time the objective is to reduce the amount of single-use plastic bottles used at social events, in order to meet strict environmental requirements. It is intended to advocate for the preservation and care of the environment while allowing for an international ceremony to meet the Net Zero levels defined by the EU.

The Hollywood Academy Awards has funded a planned initiative, through Open Water, to help with the use of reusable aluminum bottles. Already seeing examples from the past, we see how several celebrities have promoted and spread the results obtained through the use or reuse of aluminum.

Jess Page, co-founder of Open Water, explains the mission they gave the team: to put an end to plastic bottles in the ocean and to be proud that the Academy has taken the most important stage to highlight the urgency of reducing plastic waste.

Just before the big star event, Open Water took it upon itself to bring to market a range of bottles made from aluminum. This was a strategic decision to promote its drinking water and sustainable practices.

“Open Water products have been invaluable to the Academy in achieving our goal of a plastic-free production environment, while supporting our overall commitment to operate as a socially and environmentally responsible organization.” commented Jeanell English, the Academy’s Executive Vice President of Impact and Inclusion.
