Chicago’s United Center is partnering with local water company Culligan to avoid single-use plastic. Chicago’s United Center, the nation’s largest indoor professional sports and entertainment arena, has a new multi-year agreement with water treatment systems and solutions company Culligan International, which will provide an aluminum alternative to single-use plastic bottles.
Culligan will offer its BPA-free aluminum water bottles for sale at all concession points. It will also install new water fountains, refill stations, multi-function faucets and recycling garbage cans. A Culligan spokesperson also announced that the upcoming Chicago Marathon in October will replace all single-use plastic water bottles at the finish line with aluminum bottles for approximately 50,000 runners.
