Whitham Mills, a designer and manufacturer of waste management machinery specializing in balers, announced the sale of the GB-1111TR baler to Biffa, one of the largest waste companies in the United Kingdom. This model GB-1111TR with TWIN RAM was purchased to replace the existing single channel baler to increase production and bale weight.

Specifically, the engineering team, which has been installing waste machinery for more than 25 years, said the GB1111TR-3018 model is the largest machine to date and is attracting a lot of attention due to its power and impressive bale weights.

The Whitham Mills GB1111TR-3018 is capable of working with all types of materials including cardboard, paper, plastic bottles, hard plastic, steel and aluminum beverage cans, etc. The press achieves weights in excess of 1,100 kg for cardboard, 800 kg for plastic bottles, 620 kg for aluminum cans and up to 1,500 kg for steel cans. These new bale weights have doubled the throughput and halved the number of trucks leaving Biffa, as they are now loaded to their maximum capacity. This is the second machine purchased by Biffa from Whitham Mills, high-end equipment to meet its growing recycling demands.
