PPG, a manufacturer of paints and coatings, has just launched its new brand, iSense, which includes its entire portfolio of specialty coatings for aluminum cans. The products are ecologically friendly.
PPG offers several types of finish, including matte (divided into degrees of gloss intensity, with full matte, semi-matte and satin matte coverage), tactile (with varied textures) and glossy (such as phosphorescent effect, which glows in the dark). By 2021, it intends to explore new opportunities and solutions, focusing on trends that offer high performance at the point of sale.

“We are pioneers in the creation of special varnishes and we closely follow the growth in consumption of this type of materials as well as the growing acceptance of this novelty by the market. The peak in consumption volume was recorded between 2019 and 2020, mainly due to the semi-matte and tactile effects, which highlight the products available on the shelves for the end consumer,” said Claldemir Datrino, coordinator of PPG’s packaging coatings laboratory.

PPG is an American company headquartered in Pittsburgh with operations in more than 70 countries. It is a global supplier of paints, coatings and specialty materials to customers in the building and construction, consumer products, industrial and transportation and aftermarkets.
