EveryCanCounts Infinity, the new immersive can recycling exhibit at Dundee Science Center
Inspire people to recycle their empty cans. This is the aim of the EveryCan Counts Infinity exhibition, a fully immersive display on can recycling hosted by the Dundee Science Center.
The installation, which was named the ‘Infinity Room’ and launched by the non-profit organization Every Can Counts, aims to teach children and the general public about the importance of recycling beverage cans, as well as to illustrate the infinite recyclability of aluminum.
The main protagonist of the exhibition is a giant beverage can that attracts the attention of young and old. The visitor, as soon as he enters, finds himself in a room with mirrors that create the illusion of being surrounded by an infinite number of suspended aluminum cans. All this is added to the voiceover of a narrator who takes the visitor on an educational journey through the recycling of aluminum cans and their environmental benefits.
Chris Latham-Warde of Every Can Counts was pleased with the exhibition. “We are delighted to bring our unique Infinity Room installation to another UK city after its recent success in Glasgow,” noted Latham-Warde who added that “the aim of the exhibition is to raise awareness of the infinite recyclability of beverage cans in a visual and interactive way and we hope visitors to the Dundee Science Center will be inspired by it. Each and every one of us can play a vital role in maintaining this cycle and allowing aluminum to be recycled again and again, forever.”
The aforementioned exhibition is made up of 1,500 recycled cans and can be visited free of charge in The Infinity Room at the Dundee Science Centre.
