Cans are the second most popular form of packaging in Mexico, representing 36% of all beer container methods in the country. Not only that, there is a growing commitment by Mexicans to recyclable and environmentally friendly materials. But, one of the most important things is that the recycling process has an efficient infrastructure according to Forbes Mexico. The Central American country has an efficient system of separation, collection and recovery of aluminum cans and in a context where Mexicans are becoming more committed every day. According to the media, the production of aluminum packaging reached an all-time record of 19,748 million pieces in 2020, which represented a growth of 12.5% over 2019. 80% of these cans were destined for the brewing agro-industry. This means that the Mexican beer industry, together with the metal packaging industry, generates an important growth and development for the country.
According to data from the National Chamber of Metal Packaging Manufacturers (CANAFEM) of Mexico, this industry also generates ample value by using 95% of Mexican inputs.
