The Murcian company Mundolatas is a pioneer in launching the world’s first virtual platform dedicated to the metal packaging sector. METALATAS, is an interactive digital universe born with the aim of hybridizing the real and virtual world, in which to offer infinite commercial possibilities to companies in the sector around the world.

Although the term is becoming increasingly popular, talk of the Metaverse is still totally unfamiliar to most people. In essence, metaverses are virtual worlds in which individual or corporate avatars interact in a video game-like scheme to perform leisure and fun activities, work, attend virtual events, receive training or develop projects involving the union of different forces.

The company Mundolatas has just launched METALATAS, the first Metaverse aimed at the metal packaging sector. The Murcian firm, which has just completed two years of existence, is the international spearhead being the digital media of the specialized metal packaging sector with more visits worldwide.

So far, dozens of companies, not only from Spain but also from Latin America, including Brazil, have shown their interest in this innovative digital project with which Mundolatas hopes to change the rules of the game by anticipating the future needs of the market. Fernando Fuentes, CEO of the company explains that “METALATAS has been the result of the complicated situation we are living. In recent months we have realized that it was necessary to have a platform where our sector is really protected, where we can continue to present our products with all the guarantees, effectively and safely”.

“Mundolatas is a pioneer in this sense creating METALATAS. We know that this virtual world has infinite possibilities that will help can manufacturers, suppliers, fairs and industry associations to interact with current and potential customers in an agile and fun way”. Fuentes also adds that “the possibilities offered by the Metaverse are highly applicable to our industry and will offer us an infinite number of possibilities both in the exhibition, design and promotion of machinery and metal packaging, as well as in terms of training”.

From a business point of view, METALATAS represents a huge opportunity for companies as a new channel for selling new digital products and services. “We cannot neglect the possibilities of the industrial metaverse, where practical applications involve building real-world replicas or ‘digital twins’ for testing devices and/or processes that allow for testing them before manufacturing in the real world, as well as the 3D display of their latest innovations.”

For the CEO of Mundolatas, “today there are many companies that invest millions of euros in developing a new machine or product and need a space where to make the presentation or imagine a parallel fair in METALATAS or as a complement to an on-site fair, providing extra visibility, a greater flow in meetings, training or any type of meeting within the Metaverse. I am sure it will be a highly valued complement for users”.

Fuentes details that “this is a very ambitious project full of challenges for our company and for the industry. However, we have to work a lot on the change of mentality, but the new young people are very familiar with the Metaverse and will feel very comfortable moving in METALATAS. It will be an opportunity for all companies that want to be part of the future, to be part of the change.”
