Following the success of the 2019 edition in Mexico City, Latamcan returns to Sao Paulo in March 4th – 6th, 2020.

With more than 500 attendees and 100 exhibiting companies showing their latest technological advances, systems, products and consumables, Latamcan 2019 was a total success. The technical program included interesting and educational presentations and was divided into two separate rooms; one dedicated exclusively to the 2pc aluminum audience and a separate room for the 3pc steel audience.

For our 2020 edition, we already have a complete technical program which can be seen by visiting For this new opportunity, Latamcan offers, additional to the technical presentations program and exhibit hall, which works on a “table top” style, a couple of technical forums with question and answers periods.

The 3pc Forum will focus on printing over metal, its problems and solutions. Among the issues to be covered we can mention: Color, why colors do not match the Pantone book, variations during printing runs and issues with the substrate. Additionally, the issues of conventional against UV curing will be discussed and the 5 most common problems in printing and their solutions will be dealt with. To finish, the panel will offer information on the new developments in inks and varnishes, digital printing, shapes and sizes of cans as well as pinpointing the challenges to be met.

The 2pc forum will discuss downgauging which is still quite a global issue but with different requisites and needs depending on the region or country. Some of the issues to be considered are conversion costs, requirements from the fillers, axial load, technologies currently used by the fillers, infrastructure of each country and current can sizes. This will lead us to a few issues, particular to our industry like current aluminum gages, Cupper, Bodymaker and Necker tooling, general can design, among others. To finish we will discuss how our industry is reacting to these challenges.

We invite you to visit where you will be able to see, besides the technical program for 2020, the lists of suppliers and canmakers registered to attend so far as well as the receipeints of this years Latamcan Lifetime Achievement Awards. You will also find a section dedicated to the 2019 event in Mexico City with a short video of the conference as well as a complete picture gallery and attendee comments.
