MPMA has new additions to its board of directors. Jason Galley will succeed Robert Fell as director and chief executive of the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association (MPMA) in the UK. An addition effective January 2024, with Galley assuming the full role of director and chief executive officer.
Galley began his career as a metallurgist at CarnaudMetalbox (now Crown Holdings Inc.). He has also held senior positions with companies such as American National Can, Alcan Packaging, Aerocan, as well as 12 years with Ball Corporation, which translates into 33 years of experience in the metal packaging industry. He has worked in many steel and aluminum packaging sectors, including beverage, food, pharmaceutical, household and personal care.
“Jason’s extensive knowledge of metal packaging and the breadth of sectors within that made him the standout candidate to succeed Robert. He also brings expertise in sustainability, which is fundamental to everything we do,”
reiterated MPMA president Aidan Ruddock, Eviosys.
Following that announcement, Galley added: “There are many challenges facing the metal packaging industry – EPR, DRS and the ongoing impacts of Brexit, to name just three. There are also perennial issues around sustainability and ensuring the voice of metal packaging is well represented at government, retail and consumer levels. I look forward to working with the association’s committees and wider industry sector groups to tackle these head on.”
