Cepedameltog started its journey in 2017. How has that evolution been throughout these years, what changes have taken place, what is your current balance as CEO of the company?
We have united two very different ways of doing things, two languages and two company cultures in one, it has been a challenge that has enriched us in terms of experience but it has cost us a lot of work, the balance after 5 years could not be better, today we have a consolidated and experienced team that is ideal for our growing business.
-How many people are currently employed by the company? and what are the growth figures for the last year?
With a qualified team of 40 people, Meltog also has its own business line for decorative packaging. CepedaMeltog is experiencing a period of significant growth and we have plans to add more staff, from designers to qualified assemblers and service engineers. The past year has been great and we are entering into completely new projects involving R&D that are going to be very innovative for our industry.
-Is the international geopolitical situation affecting you in any way?
It is affecting us at all levels, in the delivery times of certain components that is delaying us in our delivery times a lot and with some business we had in Russia also in a very negative way.
As with any international business, CepedaMeltog faces challenges in its supply chains, issues related to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine have restricted access to certain markets as well as continued difficulties in finding containers and shipping our finished products.
We try to ensure that Cepedameltog has a solid set of contingency strategies in place, whether it is from increasing parts in stock to having key personnel who can react to ensure that our objectives and goals are achieved.
-You have just been at the Latamcan fair, what is your assessment of the event?
It is a great opportunity to meet with customers and other suppliers in a relaxed and very pleasant atmosphere, this year customers have come with many projects and have shown great interest in knowing what is happening in our industry and what are the new trends, very good experience no doubt.
– Engineering is carried out in the UK (Leeds) with design, manufacturing, and assembly from the MELTOG plant, with technicians specialized in press manufacturing and sales, after sales service, and administration will be managed from Madrid. Did you also recently publish new job offers?
We are growing and we need assemblers, designers, everything! We are also contemplating the option of opening something in Spain…..
-Taking advantage of the strong industrial and technological support CEPEDAMELTOG also has a division specialized in new developments, especially in the use of new technologies, what projects or areas are you working on and promoting?
We are developing new presses and upgrading existing presses so that we can offer a wide range of presses to suit each customer’s specific needs and budget.
We include state-of-the-art linear motors with very precise and reliable linear guides that allow us to offer much more efficient lines in terms of production, efficiency and optimization than a few years ago.
Our control systems are based on interconnected control systems, using Industry 4.0 applications, we achieve a real-time view of the operability and status of all machines and, of course, remote access support when required by the customer.
We are also developing a leaf positioning system that will be very innovative.
– What is your assessment of the last year and what are your expectations for the year-end?
Our balance sheet is very positive and we have very realistic short- and medium-term prospects for continued significant growth, although we remain vigilant at all times because we are living in very complex and changing times.
