Iberembal to build a metal packaging plant in Porriño, Pontevedra
Iberembal, a company based in Navarra, will build a plant in the Galician city of Porriño for the manufacture of metal containers for canned food.
The plot of land on which the plant will be built, which is owned by the municipality, has been sold by decree for more than one million euros to Iberembal.
It has a surface area of 13,335 square metres, of which 10,668 square metres can be built on for industrial purposes. Iberembal belongs to the French group Massilly, a manufacturer of capsules, cans, aerosols, industrial packaging and decorated and customised metal boxes.
The history of Massilly, which began in 1911 in Burgundy, is that of a family business that has become a global player in the metal packaging sector.
It currently has 25 subsidiaries in 15 countries. Massily Ibérica Grumetal in Zaragoza, Massily Ibérica Iberembal in Navarra, Logroño and Pontevedra.
