The Swedish multinational Hexagon and the Basque company SmartPM, part of the Egile Group, have signed a collaboration agreement to implement automated, flexible, intelligent and autonomous manufacturing solutions for European customers.
According to Hexagon’s website, SMARTPM will design and implement intelligent manufacturing solutions for customers using Egile Group’s “market-leading expertise in highly complex and precise machining processes, high-precision 3D scanning, CAM, Hexagon’s market-leading CAE (in particular, Simufact, FTi FormingSuite) and data management and analytics products such as Q-DAS eMMA along with its MIC (Manufacturing Intelligence Core) industrial automation platform”.
The MIC (Management Intelligent Core) platform is a high-level software solution that works as an “operating system” to autonomously manage all the assets that make up an industrial process; from people, warehouses, machining centers and methodology and handling solutions (robots).
SmartPM is specialized in the engineering and automation of industrial processes for the precision machining sector. While Hexagon is a world leader in sensors, software and autonomous solutions.
