HERMASA AWARDED IN THE TUNAAWARDS 2021 IN THE CATEGORY OF TRANSITION 4.0
Hermasa Canning Technology has been the winner of the TunaAwards2021 in the Transition 4.0 category for its project ‘Smart Tunipack’, the smart tuna packer. The fastest and most valued tuna packer in the world increases its prestige with the DC system, which adjusts the weight of the product in each can, automating and perfecting the process.
These awards held in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food come to recognize the important work of these companies in innovation as is the case of the award-winning company. Hermasa Canning Technology has also participated in the X World Tuna Conference, organized by ANFACO-CECOPESCA, during the 13th and 14th of September.
Pablo Rodríguez Cordovés, participated as a speaker in block 5 – Innovation and Technology, developing the theme “Boosting the Productivity of the Tuna Chain through Technological Innovation and Digital Transformation”, where he presented the most relevant technological developments and opportunities in the sector, as well as the 4.0 solutions that Hermasa is making available to the international tuna canning sector.
The Hermasa group is the world leader in the research, manufacture and sale of machinery for the manufacture of canned fish: tuna, sardines, mackerel, etc. It also designs and builds all its technology in its research and production centre in Spain, from where it exports to more than 65 countries.
Add that TUNA VIGO 2021 has become these days in the world capital of the tuna sector, canning and processing of seafood and ancillary industries, which have been present in person and virtually, managers of tuna companies based in countries such as Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Belgium, Ecuador, USA, Peru, Brazil, Guatemala, Canada, El Salvador, Algeria, Morocco, Seychelles, Mauritius, South Africa, Madagascar, Ghana, Cape Verde, Thailand, China, the Philippines, Taiwan, Korea, PNG, UAE, Yemen, Indonesia, Iran, etc.
The participation of representatives from all these countries means that countries whose production accounts for 90% of world production of canned tuna have been present during the conference, whose previous nine editions have also closed with a resounding success of participation.
Currently, tuna is a product of great importance in the seafood processing industry worldwide, giving meaning to an essential tuna fleet. Finally, it should be noted that tuna accounts for 69% of the production of canned fish and seafood in our country in volume. Spain, led by Galicia, is the main producer of canned and prepared tuna in the EU and second worldwide, after Thailand.
