Companies in the plastics, chemical and rubber sectors, among them Grupo Armando Alvarez, have joined together under the organization of a SCRAP program (Extended Producer Responsibility Collective System), to respond to the obligation contemplated in the draft Royal Decree on Packaging and Waste, which provides for Extended Producer Responsibility in the management of their industrial and commercial packaging.
This obligation, which is expected to come into force at the end of 2023, aims to reduce the impact of such packaging on the environment by promoting reuse and the circular economy.
In this context, Cicloplast, with the support of other sectoral associations, is leading this project, the focus of which will be the coordination and financing of the management of all industrial and commercial packaging waste put into circulation, regardless of the material from which it is made.
