Causes of wire slippage on welding

Causes of wire slippage on the weld in the welding process of food cans, here are some possible causes.

Causes of wire slippage on the weld can include problems with the alignment of the welding rollers, the height of the sizing crown, incorrect wire width and profile, the condition of the sheave groove, excessive gap between tracks, excessive welding force, taper or lack of overlap, and the position of the Z-bar tip.

In addition, problems such as tin build-up on the Z-bar, contamination of the wire guide pulleys, and contamination of the tinplate (oil, grease, varnish, rust) can also contribute to wire slippage on the weld.

These factors can affect the correct adhesion of the wire to the tinplate during the welding process, resulting in slippage or sliding of the wire.
