Saku Brewery partnered with Canadian company CANPACK Group to grow its non-alcoholic beverage called ‘Saku on Ice’, a canned non-alcoholic beverage, which is poised to capitalize on an exciting trend in the beverage industry.

Since 1999, the first ice-cold beer Saku launched in Estonia, the brand has seen consumers change their drinking habits and start looking for options based on moderation.

Along with the growth of the health and wellness market, the Estonian brewer, part of the Carlsberg Group, first introduced ‘Saku on Ice Non-Alcoholic Radler’, a range of fruit-flavored non-alcoholic radlers, to the market in 2018. Recently, Saku on Ice received an image makeover in order to exploit the growing trend of premiumization and shelf appeal.

“Most of Europe has experienced a heat wave this summer, and with the prospect of continually warmer summer periods, taking shelter from the heat and staying hydrated and refreshed has never been more important.” confirmed Saku Brewery.

To ensure that Saku on Ice had a premium look and feel, CANPACK took care of the can designs in order to provide a real touch and a new sensory experience for consumers.

The can designs take advantage of aluminum printing, which show the ‘coolness’ of the product. CANPACK’s innovative tactile effect gives the cans a unique touch and appeals to the consumer’s senses.. “This can design expresses exactly the right nature of the product. With CANPACK’s tactile effect on the can, it is possible to see and feel the coolness and freshness of the liquid.”The brand emphasized.

Stephen McAneny, CANPACK’s Commercial Director, concluded by noting that: “Saku on Ice non-alcoholic is the best choice for cooling off during the summer. With the ability of an aluminum can to cool quickly, there is no better way to create the feeling of refreshment than with a can of iced beverages.”
