England’s Britvic has announced a £26.9 million investment in its Rugby, England facility, the company’s largest production site. Its objective is none other than to strengthen its supply chain.
According to the company, this investment will focus on the installation of a fourth canning line, which will increase the total capacity of the site by 18% more, which will generate at least 20 new jobs at the facility.
The new jobs will be predominantly engineering and manufacturing jobs, which will help develop Britvic’s role as a leading employer within the community. The new efficient configuration will produce 330ml recyclable cans for Britvic’s portfolio of leading brands such as Tango, Pepsi and 7UP.
Paul Graham, managing director of Britvic GB, says: “This is another milestone in our journey of growth, investing in both our supply chain and our people. This new state-of-the-art canning line will be a fantastic boost for Britvic’s Rugby facility, which continues to produce recyclable cans for some of our most popular brands. We look forward to using this additional capability as a platform to drive further innovation.
This investment reinforces Britvic’s commitment to its supply chain and follows the completion of the transformational £250m Trade Capacity Programme, which enhances facilities for the benefit of colleagues and customers. The first cans are expected to be produced in November, with the line ready for operation in 2022.
