Compañía Brasileña de Alumínio (CBA) has inaugurated a new Solutions and Services Center (CSS) in Caxias do Sul (RS), a Brazilian city that is home to an important industrial and innovation center.

The new space, with an investment of more than 500,000 euros and a surface area of nearly 900 m2, will be dedicated to the development of value-added solutions tailored to customers’ needs. In total, it has taken almost five years of research and development to set up this new assembly line to deliver specific solutions, parts and kits to meet the ever-increasing demand from local customers.

Fernando Varella, CBA’s Transformed Business Director highlights that “in 2017 we inaugurated the first CSS at the plant in the municipality of Alumínio, in São Paulo. The CSC in Caxias do Sul was born with the objective of consolidating our work in partnership with customers in the region, enabling new co-creation processes.”

In addition, the new semi-automated plant will focus on the supply of ready and semi-finished parts for the transportation segment. “It is worth remembering that the use of aluminum reduces the weight of vehicles by almost 100 kg and, consequently, fuel consumption. The initial production capacity of 2,500 parts per year may be increased depending on demand,” adds the CBA manager.
