The BMRA association has opened a sustainability center for its members, dedicated to measuring and reducing carbon emissions. This center also provides the opportunity to learn and apply methods to reduce emissions and access carbon offset programs.

The purpose of the Sustainability Center is to provide users with a customized carbon calculation tool for metal recycling, with the goal of directing them to resources and information that can educate employees and help them make real progress on their path to emissions neutrality.
The Sustainability Center is the result of a long process of more than a year, drawing on the expertise of the BMRA Secretariat and its members, including the Carbon Action Committee.

It also provides resources and action plans for members to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It is advised by experts in different areas, such as carbon offsetting and carbon education. In addition, the specialized metal recycling calculator developed by BMRA stands out.

The simple and practical emissions calculation tool allows you to assess Scope 1 and 2 emissions, those that are directly related to your operations and that you can work to reduce. It also includes emissions that are beyond your control but that you can still address to decrease.

A user guide with an explanatory video is available to help you use the tool properly. The opening of the Hub is a significant achievement in our progress toward a sustainable economy and our goal of creating the world’s first net-zero-emission domestic metals recycling industry.
