In the month of October there are already festivals dedicated to beer, where the efforts of those who produce, distribute and enjoy this beverage in all its varieties are celebrated and recognized. In addition, this month marks the beginning of the season in which the consumption of beers such as lagers, ales and porters, among other styles, increases.

According to statistics, Chileans consume around 59 liters of beer per capita per year. In recent years, producers have shown a preference for using cans instead of other formats. In fact, a study conducted by Ball Corporation’s research and market intelligence department revealed that in the last three years there has been a significant increase in canned beer consumption in the region, with an average annual growth of 4% since 2020. This increase is especially notable in countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Paraguay, where Ball has a presence, accounting for more than 80% of the aforementioned growth.

The leading company in the production of sustainable packaging made of aluminum believes that cans have been a fundamental piece in the evolution of the industry, thanks to their flexibility and practicality that has allowed breweries to reach more people and offer their unique varieties to a wider audience.

Ball, through collaboration with brewers and innovation in packaging design, has contributed to the success of many industrial and craft beers in the market. The demand for new experiences has led to an increase in the variety of beers available, from non-alcoholic beers to reds, IPAs and stouts, to meet changing consumer tastes. In addition, packaging now plays an important role for brands as it is a meaningful and impactful way to interact with their customers.
