It is perhaps the most requested drink in bars and restaurants since the beginning of the 21st century. There are gins made in the Brazilian and Peruvian Amazon, flavored with yerba mate in Argentina and even with Andean products in Chile. Getting to know a new place, enjoying a sunset in front of the sea or taking an hour in the middle of the working day to rejoice in the rays of the sun, are some of the possible scenes to enjoy a canned gin and tonic.

With the start of the pandemic in 2020, Argentina’s Wesley Brewery added gin to its catalogue, mainly in glass bottles. Gradually the Bariloche brewery began the canning process for its gin and tonic. Wesley maintain the usual channels of beer with customers they already have and in turn adding distributors. “We always work in Buenos Aires with Nómades and Fravi Craft. Little by little we are adding some more”, explains Marcos Wesley, one of the owners.

Marcos also points out that due to the problem with glass both in Argentina and in the world, they are looking for different alternatives for gin, which allows them to produce gin and tonic already made and not depend on glass.

Finally he adds that “the projections of this new launch are being very good because we are one of the few distilleries authorized by Public Health and the INV (National Institute of Viticulture). We have all the permits to produce gin, the growth is good”. In addition, Wesley Brewery will add a new distiller to its production that will allow them to increase volume and have a broader strategy in Argentina.
