The increase in demand for its beverage cans has not been enough to prevent the closure of one of Ardagh Metal Packaging’s (AMP) eight U.S. production facilities.
Ardagh Metal Packaging announced that its Whitehouse, Ohio, plant will close in early 2024, a company spokesperson confirmed. The facility staff was informed of the closure, which will take place in the first quarter of next year. The first notification of a possible closure came last October, to the surprise of many of the facility’s workers.
Ardagh Metal Packaging is a subsidiary of Ardagh Group S.A. and is engaged in the manufacture of metal packaging. The company has been at the forefront of metal beverage can packaging, with 12 production facilities throughout the region.
AMP is also a world-leading supplier of endlessly recyclable and sustainable metal beverage cans and closures to brand owners.
