The ANFACO-CECOPESCA association has announced that it is resuming its participation in the European Commission’s prestigious BTSF program. As in previous calls, ANFACO-CECOPESCA is in charge of coordinating several training courses within the Better Training for Safer Food (BTSF) program. It is a European Commission initiative designed to ensure EU capacity building in the areas of food and feed law, animal health and welfare, and plant health.

Specifically, the BTSF is aimed at all officials of the competent authorities of member states and third countries, who are involved in official control activities, with the objective of ensuring that they keep up to date with all aspects of Community law in the areas mentioned above and ensure that controls are carried out in a uniform, objective and adequate manner.

Throughout this year 2022, the celebration of events focused on addressing the issue of Food Hygiene of aquatic animals and products derived from them in primary production. The training program includes theoretical classes and practical exercises, which will provide participants with the opportunity to acquire new knowledge, learn from the experience of other member states and then be able to apply these lessons to everyday situations in their own country.

In total, four one-week events will be held this year, with around 20-25 participants from countries throughout the EU, which will also be attended by ANFACO-CECOPESCA specialized personnel to improve their training.

Each event will be conducted by a group of experts composed of teachers from different member states. ANFACO-CECOPESCA has previously participated as coordinator in previous calls on other topics between 2013 and 2016, in countries such as Jamaica, Chile and Nicaragua.
