The unions CCOO, UGT, and USO have reached an agreement with the employers’ association of the metal packaging sector, which encompasses the production of metal containers, for the signing of a new collective agreement. This pact will be in effect from 2024 to 2027 and includes a total salary revaluation of 21.51% by the end of the period.
The increases will be applied progressively: 3% in 2024 and 2025, 3.5% in 2026, and another 3% in 2027. In addition to this increase, a 7.44% derived from previous judicial resolutions is added, thus consolidating the agreed-upon remuneration improvement.
In addition to salary aspects, the agreement contemplates advancements in labor rights. Among them, the establishment of a commission in 2025 to review professional classification, the update of paid leaves, and the extension of the child accompaniment permit, which will now cover up to 16 years of age. Medical visit hours are also better regulated, which can now be used up to six times a year within the limit of 16 hours annually, and changes are introduced in the Temporary Disability (TD) supplement in cases without hospitalization.
The Spanish Metal Packaging Association (AME), representing the companies in the sector, has endorsed this agreement, highlighting its commitment to labor welfare and industry sustainability.
