The global aerosol market size is expected to experience a compound annual growth rate of 6.4% between 2020 and 2030, to reach $149.7 billion by 2030, according to a report by P&S Intelligence.

This is due to a demand that has been experienced lately in personal care products such as dry shampoos, hairsprays, shaving creams, deodorants, foam foundations and other products.

The reason is due, they say, not only to the growing awareness of personal hygiene but also to the launch of innovative products in this area. The pandemic, like all industries, has had a significant impact on the aerosol industry, but recovery is slowly beginning.

The report highlights that “in the coming years, the aerosol market, based on product type, will be dominated by the hydrocarbon category. The use of hydrocarbons, such as propane, butane, and isobutane, as propellant leads to the creation of ample pressure and reservation of nearly 85% of the space inside the can for the actual product”.

He also points out that “aluminum has held the largest share of the aerosol market in the past, based on packaging material. Aluminum cans are lightweight, recyclable and aesthetically pleasing, which drives the use of this metal for aerosol packaging”.
