Matt Ledger, a product design student at Nottingham Trent University, was the winner in this year’s 2024 Starpack Students Awards, sponsored by the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association (MPMA) and organized by IoM3.
Design students were invited to create a luxury promotional metal container to hold a 100 ml bottle of perfume, aftershave or cologne.
Matt created a fictitious brand name for his winning design, ‘Verdure’, which represents ‘an essence of flourishing vegetation’, and packaging that cleverly combines elegance with environmental awareness.
The striking green can incorporates sophisticated design elements, such as embossing and an eye-catching ribbed element, which help create visual appeal. Regardless of the contents, the can itself is a unique design that would have a much longer life for its beauty and utility.
