IDEAL CANE TO OPEN NEW CAN MANUFACTURING PLANT IN GUADALUPE

The Government of Québec and Investissement Québec announced that they will invest nearly $1.2 million in Ideal Cane, located in Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region. The objective is none other than to support the establishment of a steel can manufacturing plant for maple syrup and canned products in the municipality of Guadalupe. The project will include the acquisition of a building and the purchase of innovative equipment, as well as the implementation of three production lines and the hiring of 45 employees per line.

Ideal Cane will thus become the first company in Quebec to manufacture maple syrup cans. The project will have a significant economic impact, as 73% of the world’s maple syrup production comes from Canada.

In addition, the financial assistance allocated will include a loan of $600,000 from the ESSOR program, administered by Investissement Québec as the government’s agent, as well as a loan of the same amount from Investissement Québec’s own funds under the Innovation in Productivity initiative.
